So got the tethering working on my HTC to laptop,
As I remember. (VERY ROUGH GUIDE)
Download easyTether from mobile-stream onto laptop.
Download easyTether onto HTC
Install both.
Select Android option on PC install
Connect HTC via usb.
THE IMPORTANT BIT
********CANCEL HARDWARE INSTALL activate by USB connection. (it installs as unknown device!!!!)
Select "easyTether already installed on Pc" on HTC
PC finds new hardware (Android interface) and installs
ENABLE USB DEBUGGING HTC
DISABLE INTERNET SHARING HTC
it worked for me.
